SPEEDWAY—If you find it difficult getting to a Bureau of Motor Vehicles branch during business hours, a new location in Speedway may offer just what you need.
The BMV has closed its branch near I 465 and Rockville Road on the Indianapolis west side and moved to a new facility in the Speedway Super Center, 5620 Crawfordsville Road. It includes a BMV Connect Center.
The new branch is at the east end of the shopping center, near Kohl's and opening day is July 2.
"The new branch location offers a larger area to better service our customers," according to BMV Marketing Coordinator Rachel Harkin. "In addition to the BMV Connect Center, the branch includes 24 customer service stations with two dealer fleet stations, 20 testing stations, and ample parking for branch customers."
The Connect Center is the third in Indiana and the first in Marion County. BMV Connect is a self-service kiosk which gives customers the ability to complete more than one dozen routine transactions, 24-hours-a-day—much like a bank ATM.
The BMV Connect kiosks have security cameras and bureau employees are available to help, during normal business hours.
Here are the transactions that can be completed at the kiosks:
- Vehicle registration renewal.
- Duplicate registration.
- New registration.
- Watercraft registration renewal.
- Driver's license renewal.
- Duplicate driver's license.
- Official driver record.
- Reinstatement fee payment.
- Email address update.
- Mailing address update.
- Duplicate title.
- Replacement sticker.
- Replacement learner's permit.
