INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana State Police employee has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Sgt. Ron Galaviz, ISP's assistant public information officer.

The civilian employee was assigned to ISP's laboratory division in Indianapolis.

The employee was admitted at an undisclosed date to a local hospital for medical issues, and Sunday, the employee received notice they had confirmed testing for COVID-19. They are being hospitalized at this time.

A co-worker who worked in close proximity with the afflicted employee has since self-quarantined at home.
A statement from ISP partially reads:

"The Indiana State Police is working closely with the Indiana State Department of Health. We are continuing to monitor the situation and following accepted virus mitigation practices for the health and safety of its employees, their families and the greater community."
