INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Public Schools released a coronavirus response plan and website as the illness continues to spread around the world.
According to a letter sent to parents, the district is deep-cleaning classrooms, encouraging frequent hand-washing among students and staff and disinfecting commonly used areas and objects in its schools.
"There are currently no reported cases of COVID-19 at IPS, but our school nurses are proactively monitoring students and staff who show any signs or symptoms of an infectious disease," the letter said.
There have been two confirmed cases of coronavirus in Central Indiana, and Avon schools held an e-learning day Monday after an elementary school student tested positive for the illness.
