INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana University Health announced updated visitor restrictions Saturday due to the COVID-19 pandemic, along with a rise in the number of reported cases of influenza and other respiratory viruses.
Beginning Sunday, no visitors will be allowed at IU Health hospitals, the network announced.
Exceptions will be considered where a patient can receive one visitor in the areas of:
- Neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU)
- OB/delivery
- Pediatrics
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Outpatient surgery
- Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health (one parent or guardian per patient)
Two visitors per patient will be allowed in end of life situations, and a patient being directly admitted to the hospital will be allowed a visitor at the time of admission only, according to IU Health.
