INDIANAPOLIS — An Indiana University student who is currently not studying on campus in Indiana has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Indiana University shared the information on their continually updated coronavirus page Friday. The school says the student in question is currently being isolated in their home country and will remain there to receive care.
The Kelley School of Business student has not been on the IU campus or even in the United States in 2020, according to the release.
The student will not return to the U.S. while they are being treated. No other details about the student's condition or how they may have contracted the virus have been released.
Indiana University's current policy is that anyone traveling from a country with a CDC level 2 or 3 travel alert will be required to self-quarantine off-campus for 14 days before they are allowed to return to campus.
Those countries currently include:
- China
- Iran
- Italy
- Japan
- South Korea
