2019 Concerts on the Canal lineup and free admission days announced by IHS

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Historical Society announced the lineup for the 2019 Concerts on the Canal and Free Admissions Thursdays for the summer.

All concerts are free and held at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Indianapolis. The open seating will be in the grass area; however, concert-goers can purchase table seating for eight or four on the History Center's Kruse Family Stardust Terrace or single seats at a community table.

Visitors can bring in their own food and non-alcoholic beverages; all alcohol drinks can be purchased and consumed on site. The History Center's Stardust Terrace Cafe opens at 5 p.m. as an outdoor grill and cash bar.

The Concerts on the Canal lineup is as follows:

  • Thursday, May 30: Jessie Brown - Country, rock and soul
  • Thursday, June 6: Rob Dixon - Classic jazz
  • Thursday, June 13: Living Proof - Pop, R&B and dance
  • Thursday, June 20: Deb Mullins - Cabaret with a mix of standards, bluesy jazz and pop
  • Thursday, June 27: Groove Essential - Dance hits
  • Thursday, July 4: Soul Deep - Soul, jazz and rock *The History Center’s holiday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the concert from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 11: The Bishops - Party songs you love to dance to
  • Thursday, July 18: Gordon Bonham - Blues

IHS encourages guests to take full advantage of the free admission and extended hours on Thursdays during the coming season, starting on Thursday, May 30.
