INDIANAPOLIS — Grab your popcorn; it's time to head to the movies! The 16th Annual Indy Film Festival is underway.

The Indy Film Fest is huge this year with 143 different films that film-goers can see on the big screen at Newfields.

For the fest's sixteenth year, filmmakers from across the country and Indianapolis will show off their work with a variety of films ranging from dramas, thrillers, and romantic comedies. Film's runtime can be anywhere from only a few minutes long, to a couple of hours.

Those working at Indy Film Fest say watching a film with hundreds of other people in the theater makes it a fun experience.

"It really causes this group-think mentality where you start to react to the movie with the crowd," Craig Mince, with Indy Film Fest, said. "You almost give yourself to the crowd and the mob mentality when you're watching the movie, and it's a really different experience than watching it by yourself."

Tickets can range from $10 and $125 for the all-access pass. The fest runs from Thursday, May 2 to Sunday, May 12.
