INDIANAPOLIS — Downtown Indy is offering free movies on the Canal again this year and you can even rent an innertube and watch from in the water.
Indy Film Fest is partnering with Downtown Indy, Inc. to bring the Sunset Cinema on the Canal back to Indianapolis. Everyone is invited to watch free outdoor movies along the canal one Thursday each month starting in May.
A large screen will be placed at the north end of the Canal near the Admiral Spruance Basin on 11th Street.
Movie-goers can bring blankets/chairs and picnics to the grassy areas nearby. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase near Canal 337 between 7:30 – 9 p.m. each night.
- For an even more unique experience, anyone 21 and older can pay $20 and receive a floating innertube (which you can keep) to watch the movie in the Canal. The $20 payment also includes two Sun King beers. In-water participants must pre-register online because innertubes are limited. Click the links below for more information.
