INDIANAPOLIS — The rock star of competitive eating is back in Indy! Joey Chestnut brought his championship belt, and he is daring anyone to take it from him.
A year ago, Chestnut broke his own world record by tossing back more than 18.5 pounds of St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail — in only 8 minutes.
Now, the world's most famous competitive eater is back to defend the title he has won every year since the contest began.
The St. Elmo Shrimp Cocktail eating championship is Saturday, just ahead of the Big Ten Championship game, on Georgia Street.
