INDIANAPOLIS — The Eiteljorg Museum's annual Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration will be completely virtual this year with multiple online events spanning a week.

Día de Muertos is an Indigenous tradition in Mexico where people gather to remember friends and relatives who have died.

“Although the Día de Muertos Celebration will look a little different this year, we are incredibly excited about the opportunity to reach beyond the local community and involve organizations, artists and performers from across the United States -- and even Mexico,” Alisa Nordholt-Dean, the Beeler Family director of education and programs at Eiteljorg, said.

From October 28 through November 2, those wishing to celebrate the holiday can stream talks, performances, art-making, educational experiences, and more for free with Eiteljorg. To see a complete lineup with times and a URL for viewing, attendees must first register.

WRTV shares the stories behind Indy's many people, happenings, businesses, restaurants, and venues in the area.
