INDIANAPOLIS — A new speakeasy-styled whiskey bar is opening on Mass Ave Wednesday in the historic Hammond Block building.
Directly across the street from The Eagle and adjacent to The Tap, at 301 Massachusetts Avenue, the Exchange Whiskey Bar will be opening its second location. It will be housed in the basement and first floor of the building.
The Exchange first opened in 2013 in South Bend by Prime Hospitality Group, which also owns and operates Ruth’s Chris Steak House locations in Indiana.
Patrons of the whiskey bar can try more than 180 whiskeys and craft cocktails in one of Mass Ave's oldest buildings.
The Exchange is a "whiskey lovers destination," PHG's owner and president Kristy Rans said.
"The Exchange Whiskey Bar brings a new atmosphere to Mass. Ave.,” Rans said,. “(It's) a place for anyone who wants to unwind in a speakeasy-style environment with a sophisticated cocktail menu and historic feel. We're proud to bring a vibe that's completely new to residents and guests downtown.”
In addition to whiskey and cocktails, wine, beer and a small selection of food items will be available to guests.
