INDIANAPOLIS -- Late-night television host Jimmy Kimmel returned from a break of filming Monday night, with his healthy baby son, Billy, with him.
Celebrities like Chris Pratt and Neil Patrick Harris filled in as host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" while Kimmel was away taking care of his son.
He began his show by thanking the guest hosts, then started to get emotional as he looked at his son.
"Daddy cries on TV, but Billy doesn't," Kimmel said. "It's unbelievable."
Billy had his second open heart surgery, and will need one more when he is around 6 years old.
Kimmel spent the rest of his monologue discussing CHIP, which stands for Children's Health Insurance Program. A couple months ago, Congress didn't not fund CHIP, instead letting the money for it expire.
Kimmel encouraged everybody watching to call their House and Senate representatives and tell them to fund CHIP.
"Why hasn't CHIP been funded already?" Kimmel said. "If these were potato chips they were taking away from us, we would be marching on Washington with pitchforks and spears right now."
