INDIANAPOLIS — Since sports betting was legalized in September in Indiana, you can now bet on Sunday's Academy Awards.
So far, Hoosiers have bet nearly $430 million on different things, mainly football and basketball.
You can make legal bets on all 24 categories at casinos or from your couch at home using your phone.
There are some huge favorites in some of the biggest categories. Joaquin Phoenix and Renee Zellweger, who both won at the Golden Globes, in the best actor and actress categories, respectively.
There's money to be made if someone else were to win. Leonardo DiCaprio? A $10 bet pays a $400 profit.
It's the same story in the supporting categories. Brad Pitt and Laura Dern are heavy favorites on the betting line. Pretty much any other winner would add up to a nice payout.
You can even place bets on things like visual effects, sound editing, makeup, and hair.
There are even parlay bets, when you pair multiple winners for a chance for a bigger payoff.
The closest race looks to be for best picture. '1917' is the slight favorite on most lines to win Sunday's biggest award.
New Jersey is the only other state taking legal wagers on the Oscars. Bettors there played more than $1 million on last year's show.
The Oscars will air on RTV6 at 8 p.m. Sunday.
