A new app allows users to help scientists save starving orca whales.
The OracaSound app urges users to listen to live sounds picked up on underwater microphones and send them information if they hear something that could be threatening the killer whales.
The site claims the killer whale population is threatened due to low food supply and underwater noise.
Researchers call it noise pollution and it makes it harder for the whales to find food.
There are recorded sounds on the site that will help users become familiar with the variety of sounds in the ocean.
Users can send their notes to scientists via email and add them to a Google spreadsheet.
