INDIANAPOLIS -- A unique, fine-dining restaurant in downtown Indianapolis is set to close at the end of the year.
Cerulean restaurant posted a video to their Facebook page Friday announcing that their last day open will be December 31.
The restaurant, located at the base of the CityWay building on Delaware Street, served up gourmet food with unique offerings and an extensive wine list. It was one of the only restaurants in Indianapolis to provide consistent, fresh seafood dishes.
The restaurant tags itself as having "contemporary cuisine, Hoosier sensibility".
"Cerulean is about more than food. Every aspect of our restaurant is designed to bring people together. We are dedicated to serving the best food and drink in the most relaxing atmosphere possible, all so that people will gather together and make community happen."
Cerulean has been given many awards and accolades in its five years in Indianapolis - its head chef was named as a nominee for the premier dining award in the country for chefs, the James Beard award.
Its co-owner and executive chef did not cite a specific reason for the closing, but did note how much the city has changed since they opened their doors. They did allude to future projects in 2018, but did not provide any specifics.
You can watch the announcement below.
Cerulean's announcement came just a day after a staple of Fountain Square announced they were closing their doors. B's Po Boy cites the tough winter months as a reason for shuttering their amazing outdoor space and Cajun sandwiches.
