CROWN POINT — Community Healthcare System's new specialty hospital in Crown Point has officially completed and is open, The Pangere Corporation announced on Monday.
The $40 million Community Stroke and Rehabilitation Center is a multidisciplinary center that features inpatient rehabilitation, therapy gyms, and living-skills spaces. The center also provides outpatient services, which include immediate care, a full lab, diagnostic testing and imaging services, and a women's diagnostic center.
"This beautiful new building is a great place for recovery, rehabilitation, and already has a reputation for tough therapists," one stroke survivor said when in a review of the center.
The building also has a healing garden and a visitors' cafe. There are 40 private, apartment-themed rooms where patients can practice living activities for inpatient rehabilitation, as well.
Therapies provided include working through complex stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurological conditions, and spinal cord treatments.
