INDIANAPOLIS — Health officials in Indiana are monitoring several travelers for possible coronavirus symptoms, but so far there have been no confirmed cases in the state.
That's the latest from the Indiana State Department of Health as of Monday morning.

The World Health Organization has declared coronavirus a national health emergency, as cases in several countries continue to rise. The latest cases have been reported in Italy where at least 10 cities in the northern part of the country were locked down on Monday, to help contain the spread of the virus. At least 219 people in Italy have tested positive for the virus, and five people have died. An additional 167 cases of the virus have been confirmed in the Lombardy region of Italy, which includes Milan.
The ISDH says although no cases have been confirmed in the state, they are monitoring several travelers in accordance with CDC guidelines.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, symptoms of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) can range from mild to severe and include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
The CDC says symptoms of the disease can appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 days after exposure.
So far, there have been 35 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States, according to CNN. That includes at least two cases that were transmitted person-to-person. More than 400 people have been tested since the outbreak began.
More than 79,000 people have been infected by coronavirus globally, according to the WHO.

— Italy: 219 cases, 5 deaths

— Iran: 61 cases, 12 deaths
— United States: 53 cases; separately, 1 U.S. citizen died in China
— Thailand: 35 cases
— Taiwan: 28 cases, 1 death
— Australia: 23 cases
— Malaysia: 22
— Vietnam: 16 cases
— Germany: 16
— France: 12 cases, 1 death
— United Arab Emirates: 13 cases
— United Kingdom: 13
— Canada: 10
— Philippines: 3 cases, 1 death
