INDIANAPOLIS — As the clock runs out on another year, many Hoosiers will once again vow to make resolutions for the year ahead. It’s a tradition that stands the test of time.
Several Hoosiers shared their New Year’s resolutions with former WRTV reporter Derrik Thomas in this report from Dec. 31, 1979.
Some of the resolutions included:
“It’s kind of personal. It has to do with my husband and I. I hope to share a little more time together than we have in the past.”
“My New Year’s resolution would be to try to keep the center safe from crime and everything. Make it a better place to shop for the people here in town.”
“Quitting smoking.”
“To make an “A” in chemistry.”
“Mine is going to be just to try to be the best person I can be and serve the lord.”
“I’m just going to try to spread as much health and happiness to people as I can.”
