INDIANAPOLIS — Forty years ago, more than 900 followers of cult-leader Jim Jones took their lives in a mass murder-suicide in Jonestown, Guyana.
Jones was born in Lynn, Indiana. He founded the Peoples Temple at 15th and New Jersey streets in Indianapolis in the 1950s.
