INDIANAPOLIS — Small Business Saturday is this weekend, and Indianapolis neighborhoods will be taking part in the national occasion with discounts and deals from many local businesses.
American Express launched the 'Shop Small' campaign in 2010 to help small businesses get a bigger piece of holiday spending as many shoppers anticipate Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Shoppers can participate in the all-day affair in Broad Ripple, Mass Ave, Carmel and Fishers. You can find great deals at local eateries, bars, shops, wellness studios, and even find something for your furry friends.
Here are the deals to keep your eyes on in each area:
Broad Ripple
SBS in Broad Ripple starts at 10 a.m. Participants who start out their day at the BRVA office will receive free AMEX canvas shopping bags with coupons and giveaways.
- The Bungalow: Free goodie bags will be given to the first 50 people who spend $50.
- Cork & Cracker: A free gift comes with a purchase of a corkscrew or wine glass.
- Hope Plumbing: Stop in and receive $100 off any plumbing service.
- Jiffy Lube: $15 off any type of oil change.
- Marigold: Receive a free gift after making a purchase of $50 or more. Shoppers will also get 25 percent off one special item.
- Monon Coffee Company: 30 percent off any 1 pound bag of whole bean coffee.
- State of Grace: First 20 shoppers get a Starbucks or Hubbard & Cravens gift card. Everyone who makes a purchase will get a $10 State of Grace gift card emailed to them, as well.

Carmel
'All Things Carmel' will kick things off on SBS at 9 a.m. with free coffee and donuts at the Carmel Welcome Center. Click here for the parking map of the district. A free holiday trolly will also run from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., which includes stops at Center and Green and Christkindlmarkt.
- Bub's Burgers: $6 burgers all day.
- All Things Carmel: Buy one, get one 50 percent off wine glasses.
- The Olive Mill: Buy two bottles at regular price, receive third bottle at half price.

Businesses in Fishers will open as early as 7 a.m. in Fishers for SBS. Fishers shoppers can also download an exclusive app that will guide them through the day. If you check into at least three businesses during the event, you're automatically entered into a prize pack.

Starting at 9 a.m., retailers along Mass Ave will be handing out "swag" bags to shoppers.
- Silver in the City: 10 percent off (almost) everything in-store and online.
- Indy Reads: Giving out a free copy of Indy Writes Books with every purchase.
- Crimson Tate: Door busters, giveaways for in-store and online shoppers.
- Global Gifts: First 20 shoppers will receive Global Gifts, reusable bags with gift cards inside. Global Gifts subscribers will also receive a coupon in their email to use on SBS.
- Pumkinfish: First 25 shoppers will receive gift bags full of Pumkinfish items. They will also have samplings of local tea.
- City Dogs Grocery: Santa's coming at 1:45p in a firetruck for Cookies & Cocoa from 2 p.m to 4p.m.
