INDIANAPOLIS -- Sixty dogs from El Paso, Texas will soon have a new home in Indiana.

IndyHumane will take in the dogs through the Humane Society of the United States Shelter Ally Project. The dogs will arrive at IndyHumane Monday evening at 6 p.m.

The El Paso Humane Society simply has too many dogs.

Before the dogs will be up for adoption, IndyHumane will have to go through the proper animal care procedures.

“With an annual intake of 22,000 animals, shelters in El Paso are desperately in need of help,” said Kimberley Alboum, Shelter Outreach & Policy Engagement Director of The Humane Society of United States. “They have too many dogs and not enough people adopting them. Organizations like IndyHumane are vital to the work we are doing  through the Shelter Ally Project to make change and prevent the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals.”
