INDIANAPOLIS — Police pronounced a man dead after a shooting on the near east side of Indianapolis on Tuesday evening.
The shooting happened at the shared parking lot between Gleaners Food Bank and the Monon Lofts, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the 1100 Block on East 16th Street after 8:30 p.m. on a call of two people shot.
The male and female victims were both transported to the hospital with apparent gunshot wounds, where the male later died. The deceased victim was identified as 23-year-old JaSean Harris by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
The female was said to be in stable condition at the time, according to IMPD Officer Michael Hewitt.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene immediately to canvass the area for potential witnesses.
