Michael joined WRTV in October 2015 as a content coordinator. He transitioned to the WRTV Digital Team as a digital content producer in August 2021.
Michael was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, and is a graduate of Ashland University. He began his broadcast journalism career at WMFD-TV in Mansfield, Ohio. Michael worked for television stations in Ohio and Michigan before moving to the Hoosier state.
Michael cites the 2010 Kalamazoo River oil spill is one of the most significant events he’s covered. As a photographer, he saw firsthand the impact the disaster had on the environment and the lasting impact on the people of West Michigan.
Michael is a history buff and is gradually digitizing and cataloging the WRTV archive. It is a labor of love that helped the WRTV News Team win an Emmy Award in 2020 for the station’s 70th Anniversary Special.
When he’s not working, Michael can likely be found in one of three places - the garden, the kitchen, or the Pennsy Trail.
