BLOOMINGTON — What would you do to get free chicken for a year? At least one person in Bloomington has decided they'd camp out in the cold rain for a shot at the prize.

Joella's Hot Chicken, a Louisville-based fast-casual restaurant, is preparing to open its third Indiana location on Thursday. As part of the grand opening, the restaurant is offering free chicken for a year to the first 100 adults in line, age 18 and older with identification. The giveaway is good for 52 coupons.

Guests waiting in line will be entertained by a local DJ and treated to complimentary chicken and waffles, coffee, Joella's swag and games, the restaurant said in a news release. There will also be other special promotions and giveways through Feb. 3.

The free chicken giveaway will happen at 8 a.m. Thursday before the restaurant opens for business at 10:30 a.m.

The new restaurant is located at 3002 E. Third St. in Bloomington.
