RTV6 is celebrating 70 Years Together! May 30th marks the 70th anniversary of Channel 6, originally WFBM, going on the air in 1949 as the first TV station in the state of Indiana. Sports Director, Dave Furst, has been with Channel 6 for more than 20 years, starting in 1997. Ed Sorensen was the sports director at the time, and he sent the new arrival on a rather daunting first assignment.
