Airline passengers push, free jet from ice

Posted

Sometimes it doesn't pay to wait for a tow truck.

A viral video shows airline passengers in Russia pushing their jet by its wings to free its frozen landing gear. CNN reports the incident occurred at Igarka Airport in Siberia, where temperatures neared minus 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

The jet, a Tupolev Tu-134, seats about 70 passengers and weighs up to 50 tons. CNN reports the plane was able to take off.
