COLUMBUS — A young Columbus man is dead and his wife is in the hospital following a Thursday night crash southeast of Columbus.

It happened at Mineral Springs Road and County Road 250 East.

18-year-old Kyle Hall was ejected from the 2006 Mazda, which rolled over several times and came to rest in a field.

He was pronounced dead from blunt force trauma to the chest and pelvic area, according to the Bartholomew County Coroner.

Hall's wife, 18-year-old Lilly Hall, was also ejected from the vehicle.

She suffered serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital.

A state police investigator said Kyle Hall lost control of the vehicle, but it's not clear why.

Police hope to know more in a few weeks.
