INDIANAPOLIS — A day after the closing of Dick’s Sporting Goods at Washington Square Mall, Burlington is preparing to shutdown on January 24.

RTV6 just received a statement from a public relations company speaking on behalf of Burlington:

The store at 10202 East Washington Street in Indianapolis closing and associates are aware. The closing sale began on 1/3, and the store will officially close on 1/24. However, we have 2 other stores in the market for customers to visit to find great merchandise values every day. They are noted below:

1. 7901 US Highway 31 South, Indianapolis, IN 46227
2. 5470 E 82nd St, Indianapolis, IN 46250

Dick's Sporting Goods which closed on Sunday posted a "We are closing" within the store inviting people to shop at the company's other locations in Castleton, Greenwood, and Carmel.

Despite an attempt to get a response from the sporting goods company, none was ever provided to RTV6.

The departure of both stores comes several months after Ohio-based Durga Property LLC took control of the site. Since August, the company has invested in improved lighting and adding security.

Dick's Sporting Goods has posted a sign inside the store saying its last day of business is Sunday.

Property manager Keith Lee is talking to customers on social media and telling them that the stores departure "will not detour me from trying to still fix the place."

He went on to say "If I can stop then from leaving, I will, but that would still be a decision made by their corporate office to stay."
