MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. -- The former Bunker Hill town marshal pleaded guilty Thursday to one felony count of obstruction of justice and can no longer work in law enforcement.

As part of a plea agreement, Aaron Dague was sentenced to one year of probation, according to the Miami County prosecutor’s office.

Dague served as town marshal for Bunker Hill from Feb. 14, 2017 to Dec. 8, 2017.

Dague was initially charged with official misconduct, obstruction of justice, forgery, and aiding the impersonation of a public servant.

He also faced a misdemeanor count of aid/induce unlawful use of a police radio.

Dague was accused of providing false police credentials for an acquaintance and his Bunker Hill police badge.

The acquaintance used the credentials when hired as a security guard for an Indianapolis security firm, records show.

Dague was also accused of providing an email from his office requesting his acquaintance be allowed to monitor and broadcast on local Indianapolis police radio frequencies when working security, according to Indiana State Police.

As Call 6 Investigates reported last year, the town council fired Dague citing conduct unbecoming an officer.

Dague stepped in to replace Michael Thomison, who was town marshal when the entire Bunker Hill police force resigned in December 2016.

“That was all past issues and I know how I want the department to operate and to run,” Dague told Call 6 Investigates in June 2017. “So, I don't have any concern. It’s all changing and it’s all positive."

Call 6 Investigates was unable to reach Dague for comment.

In August, the former Town of Bunker Hill clerk-treasurer pleaded guilty to one count of theft amid allegations she used taxpayer money for personal expenses.

Lisa Wilson reached a plea agreement in which Miami County prosecutors agreed to dismiss the official misconduct charge.

The town of Bunker Hill has a population of 875 and is six square miles.
