LEBANON — A Boone County judge approved two additional criminal charges Monday against Dr. Jonathon Cavins, a Lebanon pediatrician accused of molesting children in his care.
Boone County prosecutors sought two child seduction charges after they said more of Cavins’ patients came forward with allegations against the doctor. This brings the total number of alleged victims to five.
Monday the Boone County Circuit judge Lori Schein also approved no-contact orders for alleged victims who requested them, records show.
Boone County prosecutors criminally charged Cavins in February with four felonies of child molesting, sexual misconduct with a minor, and vicarious sexual gratification.

In February prosecutors said they were aware of at least three juvenile victims — ages 15, 14 and 12.
It’s unclear how old the alleged victims are in the newly filed charges.
Cavins’ attorney, Jennifer Lukemeyer, declined comment on the additional charges.
Cavins, now facing six felony charges, is scheduled for a jury trial on July 8, 2019.
The parents called police, and Boone County prosecutors criminally charged Cavins, saying they found evidence that corroborated the 12-year old’s story.

After the 12-year-old accused Dr. Cavins, prosecutors said more alleged victims came forward and they filed additional charges.

The family filed a civil lawsuit against Cavins, accusing him of sexually molesting their son and causing physical trauma and severe emotional distress.
"What he did was violate my child and what he did was wrong, and he absolutely needs to be held accountable for his actions," the mom said. “He needs to be held accountable for forever changing my little boy’s life.”
The boy’s mother says she always told her children they could trust doctors.
“You never think that’s something you’re going to have to take back and say ‘don’t trust anyone if it feels uncomfortable,’” mom said.
Cavins’ medical license is suspended for 90 days while he is under criminal investigation, according to the state.
Cavins is no longer employed at Witham Health.
