INDIANAPOLIS — The season is on hold after one game for the Butler Bulldogs men's basketball team after a person involved with the program tested positive for COVID-19.
The Butler University athletic department announced Thursday a "Tier 1" personnel member, which includes players, coaches and select support staff, received an initial positive test Wednesday night following the team's season-opening 66-62 win against Western Michigan.
"The individual is not displaying symptoms and a confirmation test will be conducted," a news release said.
Butler's game against Eastern Illinois on Sunday at Hinkle Fieldhouse has been postponed.
People identified as close contacts have been notified and instructed to quarantine. Butler players, coaches and staff are tested for COVID-19 three times a week.
