INDIANAPOLIS — COVID issues with the visiting Wheeling, West Virginia team have forced the Indy Fuel to postpone home games this Friday and Saturday at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
This is the first time this season, home or away, that Fuel games have been postponed due to COVID. The team has been playing its home games before reduced-capacity crowds at the coliseum.
"Following multiple confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the Wheeling Nailers active roster, in accordance with League COVID-19 Protocol, the ECHL has postponed the game to ensure the health and safety of all players, staff and fans," said team spokesman Mark Grainda.
The Fuel, an East Coast Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, has rescheduled the games for April 2 and 3. Fans who purchased a ticket to this weekend’s games will be able to use their tickets for the rescheduled games. Promotional nights that were scheduled for Friday and Saturday will be made up on the April dates.
