WEST LAFAYETTE — A student staple at Purdue University announced it is closing its doors for good because of COVID-19.

According to the university's student paper, "The Exponent," the owners of the "Neon Cactus" terminated their lease after 28 years.

The popular nightclub was the home for many generations of college memories, dancing, singing, and the brightly colored cactus cups.

Within an hour of the announcement, one person started a GoFundMe page to try and bring the bar back.
