INDIANAPOLIS — The company with its name on the tallest office tower in Indiana is not requiring employees to be back there any time soon.

Salesforce, the cloud-based software company, has extended the work-at-home option to its 1,700 Indianapolis employees until at least July 31, 2021.

Previously, the company wanted workers back in the office by the first of next year.

"And while we continue to work on plans to reopen our offices safely, the timing of when we bring employees back will be unique to each office — and we will continue to make those decisions in a way that’s consistent with local government guidelines and the advice of our medical experts and local leadership team," said Brent Hyder, Salesforce President and Chief People Officer.

Salesforce is now offering work-at-home employees $250 for office tools and equipment, in addition to the $250 provided earlier in the year.

"To deepen our support for working parents — many of whom are experiencing a difficult start to the school year — we’ve expanded our family care leave, making parents eligible for six weeks of paid time off," said Hyder. "In June, we increased our global back-up childcare offerings through the summer so employees can get reimbursed up to $100 per day for five days each month. And today, we've extended that through the end of January 2021."

Additionally, Salesforce will allow parents to work from home beyond office re-opening dates if their children are learning remotely.
