FISHERS — The Fishers Health Department is lowering its age threshold for coronavirus testing.

Children five years and older can now receive testing, the health department announced. The previous age limit was 12.

The Fishers Board of Health approved the move to lower the age threshold at its public meeting on Aug. 21.

Fishers residents can receive free COVID-19 testing with results provided within three business days. Residents seeking a test must first complete an assessment and schedule an appointment.

Fishers established its own health department April 24.
