INDIANAPOLIS — In a world filled with lockdowns and fears of the COVID-19 pandemic, little milestones are big things to celebrate.

Indiana University Health West Hospital shared some positive news on Thursday as the IU Health Indianapolis Suburban Region reached a significant milestone: 24 hours without a single COVID-19 death. Not only that, but 10 COVID-19 patients were recovered and released from the IU Health West Hospital, the highest single-day recovery and release the hospital system has had since the pandemic began in early March.

"The leadership team for the IU Health Indianapolis Suburban Region is meeting daily, seven days a week to manage the team's response to the COVID-19 crisis," the hospital said in their Facebook post. "Team members are working around the clock to provide the best and most compassionate care to all patients in the midst of this pandemic."
