Five Lebanon police officers test positive for COVID-19

LEBANON — COVID-19 is leaving its mark on the Lebanon Police Department in Boone County.

Five officers, all assigned to the Investigations Division, have tested positive for COVID-19, although they are currently not experiencing any symptoms. Before returning to work, the five officers will be required to have two negative tests for COVID-19 which must be at least 24-hours apart.

According to the department, police headquarters was just professionally cleaned and sanitized. All officers continue to be screened for symptoms of the COVID-19 virus at the beginning of their shift. Officers also continue to take precautions utilizing their provided personal protective equipment.

The lobby of the police department on East Main Street is open to the public, however citizens are urged to call ahead before coming to the building.
