Indiana War Memorial back open following COVID-19 shutdown

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana War Memorial in downtown Indianapolis has reopened following a March closure due to COVID-19.

There are some things to keep in mind if you plan a visit:

  • Hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Wednesday - Sunday
  • Face covering is required
  • Social distancing is necessary
  • Walking tours limited to 10 people

Now on display at the War Memorial: The Congressional Gold Medal recently awarded to the final sailing crew of the U.S.S. Indianapolis.

The Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Monument Circle remains closed. Spaces inside are too tight for social distancing.
