COVID-19 now confirmed in 19 Indiana counties, 39 total cases

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health has now confirmed cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 in 19 different counties across the state of Indiana.

Nine new cases were reported in Indiana on Wednesday, including cases in Fayette, Hamilton, Hendricks, Jennings, Lake, Madison, Marion and Clark counties.

A Tippecanoe County resident, who is currently visiting Florida, has a positive presumptive case of COVID-19, according to a press release from the Tippecanoe County Health Department. The patient started showing symptoms while in Florida.

The patient is currently in the hospital in stable condition, according to the release.

The Tippecanoe County Health Department is working with other health departments to identify people who may have been in close contact with the patient, according to the release.
