INDIANAPOLIS — The Butler University men's basketball team, which appeared to be hitting its stride in recent games, won't be playing Seton Hall at Hinkle Fieldhouse this Friday.

The Big East Conference announced the postponement of the game Thursday due to "COVID-related issues with the Butler program."

A makeup date has not been announced.

It's a tough break for both teams. Butler, after a slow start to the season, won its last two games and has a 5-7 record overall and 4-5 in the conference. Seton Hall, from New Jersey, is 9-6 for the season and 6-3 in the Big East.

COVID-related disruptions are nothing new to either team, or college basketball in general this season. The Bulldogs have had five other games earlier in the season postponed or canceled. Seton Hall has lost three games.
