INDIANAPOLIS — State officials will soon start offering COVID-19 vaccination appointments to the approximately 10,000 dialysis patients in Indiana.

The patients age 16 and up will be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine starting this week, said Indiana State Department of Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lindsay Weaver.

Those patients will be notified by their dialysis providers.

That eligibility will soon expand to people with sickle cell disease, recent recipients of organ transplants, people with Down Syndrome and people receiving treatment for cancer.
