INDIANAPOLIS — A civilian employee of the Marion County Sheriff's Office who works in the jail laundry room has tested positive for COVID-19, the novel coronavirus.
According to a news release from the Marion County Sheriff's Office, the civilian employee worked in the jail laundry room on March 16. The Marion County Health Department responded promptly and has advised that the two employees and one inmate worker who came into contact with the afflicted individual has been quarantined. The quarantine expires March 30.
The sheriff's office said to date none of the individuals have developed symptoms.
Standard COVID-19 protection protocols remains in place throughout the sheriff's office.
