INDIANAPOLIS — A church in Indianapolis is offering people the opportunity to pray and still get communion during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Volunteers from the East 91st Street Christian Church were spreading a message of hope Saturday morning. Cars were lined up to get communion since the church is not meeting inside.
"In times like this, we have a choice," Associate Minister David Faust said. "Do we live by fear, or do we live by faith? We are choosing to live by faith."
Church members Kathy and El Ahlwardt were among those who came for communion.
"When we are apart under circumstances like this, we are as together as we can be and this is a way to add a little more to it," El said.
The church will stream its Sunday morning services online at 10 a.m.
