FISHERS — The IKEA store in Fishers donated more than 10,000 face masks to the Hamilton County Health Department Tuesday morning, as hospitals and other public agencies are in need due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The store had the masks in storage, as part of an emergency pandemic readiness kit, a spokesperson for the company said.

The masks will be distributed to local health care, police and fire personnel who need it.

“We felt it was extremely important to provide these masks to the professionals, and really heroes, that are on the front lines fighting this virus,” said Holly Davidson, store manager. “We are deeply grateful for all they are doing for the welfare of our community.”
