INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Eric Holcomb has tested negative for COVID-19.

Holcomb was tested Wednesday after Indiana State Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box learned she tested positive for COVID-19.

She tested positive along with her daughter and grandson.

“Janet and I are wishing Dr. Box and her family a speedy recovery,” Holcomb said. “The coronavirus does not discriminate, and this further highlights the importance of wearing masks and social distancing.”

Indiana State Department of Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lindsay Weaver, members of the Governor’s Office, and several members of the state department of health were also tested out of an abundance of caution. They all tested negative as well, the governor’s office said.

Holcomb will resume his normal schedule “vigilance about masking and social distancing,” the office said.
