Grammy-award winning gospel singer Sandi Patty announced to fans on her Facebook page on late Tuesday that she has tested positive for COVID-19.
"Friends, today I received confirmation that I tested positive for COVID-19. I am at home and Don and I are under quarantine for the next 14 days," Patty said. "I'm so impressed with how our Health Department handled my case and grateful for their attentiveness. They are working so hard right now to keep us all safe."
Patty, who announced in 2008 that she was moving back to her native Oklahoma from Anderson, said everyone must do their part to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.
"This is not fake news," she said. "If you are not already practicing social distancing and STAYING HOME, DO SO NOW! This is what we can all do."
