INDIANAPOLIS — Gov. Eric Holcomb signed an executive order Tuesday, extending the prohibition on evictions, foreclosures, and the disconnection of utility services in Indiana amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The prohibition on evictions and foreclosures has been extended through July 31. All utilities regulated by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission are prohibited against service disconnections through Aug. 14. Unregulated utilities must also extend service until Aug. 14.
Last week, Indiana announced a new rental assistance program, which is expected to provide help for 12,000 households in the state. Applications for the $25 million program will be accepted beginning Monday, July 13.
