INDIANAPOLIS — Three central Indiana funeral service facilities are limiting services to just immediate family and friends amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Flanner Buchanan, Legacy Cremation & Funeral Service, and Lavenia & Summers announced the change to their service procedures Tuesday morning.

All services, both visitation and funeral, will be limited to immediate family and friends by invitation only. The services will also only be available at their facilities.

Flanner Buchanan’s downtown Indianapolis location at 2020 Montcalm St. has livestreaming and service recording options available at no charge.

“Our heart goes out to those affected by the recent changes due to COVID-19 and we extend our appreciation to the health care community for all they are doing to protect us,” said owner Bruce W. Buchanan. “Funerals start the healing process so we urge an extra effort be made to support those who have lost a loved one during this unusual time – offering support is needed now more than ever.”
