INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis residents are encouraged to find ways to re-purpose old items during a virtual challenge.
The Indianapolis Department of Public Works launched the virtual challenge to encourage people to use the 3Rs, reduce reuse and recycle, and provide an educational activity for families during the stay at home order, according to a press release from Indy DPW.
Residents should post pictures of their re-purposed items on social media using the hashtag #Indy3RsChallenge. One entry will randomly be chosen for a prize, according to the release.
The challenge will last through the week of Earth Day and end on April 24.
"Residents are also encouraged to incorporate reducing and recycling into their everyday lives as well by identifying products they don't need to regularly consume and items they didn't know could be recycled," read the release.
