More than 10,000 Hoosiers file first-time unemployment claims

INDIANAPOLIS – Nearly one year into the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 10,000 Hoosiers filed first-time unemployment claims in the week ending Feb. 20.

The Department of Labor reported 10,711 new unemployment claims by Hoosiers.

The number is a decrease from last week's total. The previous week's total has been adjusted to 12,287. The number of claims in Indiana remained above 20,000 for 17 straight weeks from early March to mid-July.
